About GailGail Frizzell is a writer and advocate in the field of developmental disabilities. Gail’s thirty years of advocacy has been inspired by her journey as mother to her daughter with special needs. In recent years, the crisis in the availability of direct support staff has been a particular focus of Gail’s advocacy work. Her two part article The Direct Support Workforce Crisis – A Parent’s Perspective was published in Exceptional Parent magazine. Gail has received multiple local and state awards recognizing her advocacy efforts including the New Jersey Council on Developmental Disabilities Community Building Award and the New Jersey Family Support Hall of Fame Diana Cuthbertson Award. Gail resides in the beautiful rolling hills of Sussex County, New Jersey.
